1. Diane StantonI am extremely self conscious about my teeth and I rarely appear in pictures; if there’s a camera around, I’m outta there! My teeth are crowded, uneven, and very dingy in color. Because of this I rarely smile which gives other people the impression that I am not the friendly and caring person I really am! About 15 years ago I consulted with a dentist who suggested ways to improve my teeth and their appearance. By the time he finished tallying the cost, I knew it was just a hopeless dream; my budget would not allow for such luxuries. A New Smile Makeover would change my life in so many ways. Most importantly, a new smile would completely boost my self-confidence and, in turn, make me feel so much better about myself. Instead of worrying about outward first impressions, I could show people the real me from the start. I want to jump into the middle of the camera lens’ view with the biggest grin you’ve ever seen! I want to be able to “pay it forward”, as they say, by giving someone a smile, and hope they will “pay it forward” with a smile to someone else. |
2. Stefanie ThompsonI have tired whitening strips, peroxide and every tooth paste available to no avail. The spots just will not go away. I grew up in Ohio where much fluoride was added to the water thus causing pigment discoloration on my teeth. (Another theory is that as a child, I had too high of a fever and this damaged my then forming adult teeth.) Which ever the cause, the problem is noticeably worse when whitening products are used. So, I have learned to appreciate coffee stains. As an educator and public speaker, it is rather embarrassing when people get fixed on my mouth. Explaining the fluoride theory seems a bit over the top so I have learned to ignore stares; it could be worse. My teeth could break. Oh, wait, that has happened. But then that is another story. Just know that if I could get my teeth fixed, my self-esteem would greatly improve along with my confidence which would lead to a more productive and healthy life. I would smile more and we all know that smiling is contagious; so, my son would be positively affected too. And who knows maybe my smile will attract someone special. |
3. Cyndi WardI am a single mother of two and proud NaNa of two beautiful grandsons! I live my life for my family! I have always been self-conscious of my teeth because I was born without one of my permanent teeth. My mom had to get me a front partial which just had a tooth on it. In my adult life I had to get a bigger partial and they drilled away two teeth that were next to my missing one (my very front teeth). Over the years my teeth rotted at the root and broke off, of course being a single mom I couldn't afford implants. My life is controlled by the appearance of my teeth! I have seen the pictures that some of my friends have taken of me and so now I will NOT smile. The appearance and the condition of my teeth has actually become my prison. I need this new smile make over because I want to live! I want to laugh, I want to smile, I want to get out and let my personality shine and I KNOW that this new smile makeover would change my life dramatically! I heard about this contest on the radio the other day, a channel that I seldom listen to, and I just know that God had that message for me! May god bless each and every woman that reads this and the women that send in their stories as well!
