In the next few articles, I will be showcasing some interesting and unique ceiling mounted fixtures in the way of pendants and chandeliers. This first pendant is from Classic Lighting from the Harvest Moon collection. The bowl is made of natural alabaster stone and the branch is made of bronze with gold highlights.

As a footnote, most alabaster stone is quarried in and comes to us from Spain. Like onyx, alabaster is translucent and diffuses the light which creates an inner glow that is truly beautiful. Besides being used for lighting fixtures and counter tops, alabaster has been used by artists for centuries as a medium for sculptures. The demand and extensive use of this stone has made it more difficult to find and has put alabaster on the semi-precious stone list. Therefore, fixtures made from alabaster genuinely are a jewel.
