Laser Skin Resurfacing
When it comes to a woman’s skin it’s pretty safe to say that most wish they could turn back the clock. With age, the once glowing supple complexion is changed by facial skin defects such as acne scars, wrinkles, sun damage and dark spots that have taken up residence on once silky smooth skin. The signature treatment of Mondello Medical Spa, CO2 + Erbium laser resurfacing can help.
The procedure
The signature treatment atMondello Medical Spa is a total skin resurfacing. Laser resurfacing is a relatively new treatment for reducing facial wrinkles and skin irregularities and acne scars. The technique directs short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin. By using the CO2 Laser, you can pulse away old, damaged skin and have a new totally resurfaced face and more. Skin resurfacing removes skin very precisely, layer by layer. For example, it can lessen the appearance of wrinkles around your eyes, mouth, cheeks or anywhere on your body. It can also improve your complexion if you have yellowish or grayish skin tones. For those with acne scarring, this procedure can produce amazing results. Laser resurfacing removes aged or sun-damaged skin to allow younger looking skin to grow in its place.
Why is this better that other resurfacing procedures?
The CO2 + Erbium laser results in less post-operative redness, less swelling and provides more rapid healing than with other skin resurfacing methods. In most cases, patients can have their procedure performed in the doctor’s office with some limited downtime. It is effective in highly sensitive areas such as the neck and eye areas and especially effective at achieving dramatic results for severe environmental damage and deep lines.
Who is a good candidate for laser resurfacing?
If you don’t want to go the surgery route and you have fine lines or wrinkles anywhere on the body, scars from acne, or non-responsive skin after a facelift, then you may be a good candidate for laser skin resurfacing.
Those with active acne or very dark skin may not be good candidates for this procedure. This technique is also not recommended for stretch marks.
Although the CO2 + Erbium Laser Resurfacing cannot literally turn back the clock, it is a great way to bring back the youthful glow to your complexion.
