
One of the most common questions I get asked is, "What's the secret for getting rid of my belly fat? What else can I do?", usually accompanied by a quick lift of the shirt for a brief jiggle and squeeze for a 'show and tell' of how bad the problem is.
Everyone is looking for the secret.
We're willing to try a miracle fat burning pill.
We pay big money for the latest South American Rain Forest Berry.
We buy every piece of equipment from the infomercials.
We go to the gym for 2 whole weeks.
We drink special shakes to get slim fast.
We interview plastic surgeons.
But we still don't get where we want to be.
So what's the secret to having great abs?
(Long Dramatic Pause)
There isn't one.
To quote Shawn Phillips, "the one thing is everything."
The "secret" to having great abs is learning to incorporate everything at the same time.
~Nutrient Dense Eating
~Proper Exercise (Weights, Cardio, Stretching)
~Thoughtful supplementation
~Rest and Recovery.
It's everything.
We Americans don't really like this answer. We want everything instantaneously.
We're incredibly frustrated and confused when we muster the willingness to work really hard at ONE aspect of obtaining a 6 pack, and then give up in a week or two when we still see the same 'keg' instead of a 6-pack starting back at us in the mirror.
So, how do we get it all together?
I think the first answer is accurate information.
We're bombarded on all sides with erroneous information from "experts"....(read hucksters)....that want to sell a book, product or equipment and prey on the fragile emotions of the overweight.
In the next few blogs I'm going to post some solid science that will help you KNOW what has to be done to "get it together" and finally get those abs you want.
There's nothing easy about what you'll learn from me. It's simple...but not easy.
I'll give you the hard truth and then help you apply it.
Warning: It may take some time. But frankly, how long did it take your abs to get in that shape?
Give yourself time to learn, implement, practice and become an expert in each of these areas.
Once we begin to find a way to implement each of these things (at the same time) into your life, your body begins to build muscle and drop the fat which then highlights those abs you've been working on during your training sessions.
You'll be well on your way.
Everything I will be teaching you is do-able.
