I have been teaching Pilates for several years and can still find a way to make it feel like the first time, every time.
How I accomplish this is by being aware of my body the entire time I am performing an exercise. I enjoy the challenge
of feeling my muscles, my oxygen, my sweat... and most importantly my mind.
How many times have you been working out and days later when your sore say, 'I don't even know what I did to make me this sore' ? I know exactly what I did to make me sore, and my clients usually know as well.
Of course, Pilates doesn't typically result in the same soreness as weight training, it's a different kind of sore, it's more fatigue than anything. It's your brain being aware of that particular part of your body.
If you have never tried Pilates, I highly suggest you either come join us for a group mat class at my studio, or find a certified instructor in your area.
Pilates is HARD! Not terrribly complicated, but definately a challenge against yourself.
