Woman to Woman members braved the cold and came out for a delightful evening at Tanner's Pub in Winter Haven on Tuesday, December, 7th. We could have had a fashion show to highlight some of the beautiful coats that a many of our members were wearing. Deb Cooper of Deb's Cookies & Treats could have won for having a fabulously warm and furry coat.
Tanner's pub is located on West Central Avenue in Downtown Winter Haven. It is a spacious, upscale ale house with lots of dark wood and a long bar. The owners have done a great job of creating a fun, flirty atmosphere that is perfect for meeting friends for dinner and drinks, but it's also a great place for date night. A small stage hosts live entertainment with plenty of room to dance, plus two spacious outdoor seating areas, one in the front and one in the back.
Features: Dancing, Entertainment, Happy Hour, Jukebox, Live Performances, and Local Bands
Average Drink Price: $4.25 for mixed drinks
Worth Noting: Happy Hour 4 p.m.-7 p.m. daily
Specialties: Tanner's Burger--Certified Black Angus, Ultimate Steak Sandwich
Several members tried the wide array of appetizers that Tanner's offers. There were no complaints on the serving sizes or the quality of the food. If you have not been to Tanner's definitely plan on going, they offer lunch and dinner menus.
It was great to spend an evening with members who are also our friends. We even welcomed a few new members and friends.
It's Great Seeing You Again, My Friends
Deb Cooper - Deb's Cookies & Treats - What is not to love about Deb....she is hilarious and makes the most delectable cookies around. Deb is taking holiday orders so definitely call her ASAP. Everything she makes has no preservatives and she only uses the finest ingredients. Deb also makes amazing cakes, pies, and cookie bars. Her lemon bars are A-mazing!!! I haven't tasted a more perfect lemon bar in my life. Did you know that Deb is also a Blue Ribbon Pie Winner?!?! How lucky are we to have such a talented woman in our group!
It was great getting the chance to talk with Deb, Lisa Muniz, Wes, Tammy and Tamra. We were laughing so hard about different topics that time simply flew by. There is nothing better than discussing financial growth with such a fun group of people.
Marci Cummings - Elder Care Magazine & Avon Representative - Marci came out and brought her Avon catalogs to share with us. Avon makes a great gift for the season, so make sure to call Marci to place your order in time for the holidays. Marci sat with a several of our members and it was great to see everyone deep in conversation together.
Vicki St. Sauveur - Professional Organizer - Vicki has such an amazing talent for knowing how to organize a client's space without taking over their space. She understands the emotional bond most of us have on our possessions, and can calmly talk us down from the ledge while trying to organize our space. We talked about ways to organize and by cleaning an area can totally reduce the stress we sometimes put on ourselves.
Vicki and Kiki Burchette had a chance to catch up on local events in the area and how they have been trying to keep busy with seasonal events. Did you know that Vicki can come spread holiday cheer to your event and even bring Santa to the event??!?! I didn't know either, but that that I do will definitely keep her in my thoughts for any events I am planning or hear about.
Kiki Burdette - Pinxter Entertainment - It was great seeing Kiki again, I always enjoy speaking with her and catching up on events she's hosted with her entertainment company. Kiki was explaining to Vicki and I that she recently brought her entertainment company to the annual Dillard's VIP Shopping Event. I have gone to this event over the past few years, and was shocked to learn that I had missed the event totally. I was bummed because it is a great event, but also because I missed seeing Kiki in action. Kiki will have to keep us posted about future events that are open to the public where we can come and support her.
Dr. Joleene Anderson, DC - Nutritional and Functional Medicine - It is wonderful to have a chance to speak with Dr. Anderson about nutrition and creating a healthy lifestyle. Nadia Johnson and Dr. Anderson had an enlightening conversation about nutrition and health. While sitting at their table, I was able to catch a few details and was totally fascinated about their conversation.
Nadia Johnson - Wine Shop @ Home - It was my first chance to meet Nadia, who happens to be a wine consultant with Wine Shop @ Home, just like my sister Erika. How great is it to have 2 amazing wine aficionados in our group!
Hello, Thank You for Joining Us
We also welcomed a few new members to our group and look forward to connecting with them more on www.womantowomanmagazine.com.
Lisa Muniz - If you missed this event - you totally missed meeting my & Erika's sister, Lisa. She makes up 1/3 of "The Charmed Ones" aka The Lukas Sisters. It was great having Lisa there and we missed having Erika there to complete our perfect Triquetra. We will see her again at our next Meet and Mingle - what a perfect way for us to end 2010 - having all of us together in one place. Be prepared for a crazy evening for sure :-)
Philena Black - Philena is working on reinventing her career and I just admire her for it. We talked about her ideas and vision and she has done a great job getting her ducks in a row. I told her to also research companies who offer similar services, like oDesk and Arise. Knowing how other companies operate and/or having a way to supplement your income while growing your business is so very important. It brought up a new blog idea that I will be working on - so be on the lookout for it.
Tamara Cale - Romancing the Stone Custom Jewelry - Tamara signed up on WomantoWomanMagazine.com just before joining us at Tanner's. It was great to meet her and looking forward to connecting with her more.
Congrats
Deb Cooper won a $50.00 gift certificate to Chalet Suzanne. We are so happy for her and are looking forward to hearing about her fantastic evening there.
