Conner (6 years old) from Lavista, NE has an unknown genetic syndrome called Mega Cisterna Magna/Silent Aspiration. He arrived with his parents Mary & Danny and his 3 brothers for a magical trip of two days at Disney World and 1 day at Universal Studios. Connor’s favorite part was seeing Lightning McQueen, fighting Darth Vader and riding the Tower of Terror.
Once they came back to the village, Connor and his brothers enjoyed playing on the playground while their parents just enjoyed the peacefulness and relaxation of the Dream Village. The playground has a swinging bridge, tunnel, set of monkey bars no higher than a child’s reach from sitting in a wheel chair, plus ramps all around and down to the only swing designed especially for a wheelchair-bound child to swing back and forth next to their siblings. Connor’s mom summed it up best, “Peace and quiet with a home away from home.”
“We at Sunshine’s Dream Village are very lucky” said Bill Sample, founder of the Sunshine Foundation. “We can see the smile on their faces and the twinkle in their eyes. The families thank us here at the Village, but we know the thanks go to all of you who are helping us make children’s dreams come true everyday!”
The Sunshine Foundation would like to thank each of the individuals and corporations that have donated in some way over the past 20 years.
