On your mark; get set…go!

When I think of life I often compare it to a marathon. It’s a journey typically associated with a goal or objective and during that process you prepare, perform and retreat. Also, when I think of a marathon, I think of two types of individuals…the runner (jogger or walker) and the spectator. With all the excitement of the event, you see people stretching, focusing, discussing different aspects of the registration, cheering. Some joggers train year round and look forward to these events, travel if necessary and wear the perfect gear. You also have the fun joggers. Those that go in a group from work or as support to someone else in the run. Then, by the sidelines you will also find plenty of spectators. For multiple reasons, they don’t partake on the run, yet they are there to support the event, to cheer their favorite participant, and to celebrate the outcomes.

In the marathon of life, everyone’s role is important but today I want to challenge you to put your running shoes on and get on the tracks. I challenge you to be your best. It is easy to stand by the side lines and see what others are doing. It is comfortable to blame others for lack of opportunity or for disadvantages to which you may have been exposed. Ultimately, it is not too hard to sit there and let others do, achieve, succeed while you feel like you never even had a chance.

Why? Some people resent life challenges. They go about their lives complaining, criticizing and blaming. Often, you will see people who not only choose a negative path for themselves, but they also engage others in their game thus creating a much greater negative environment for everyone involved. In reality, life is full of challenges and like in the marathon we must prepare to tackle those challenges sometimes predictable sometimes, not so much.

As a Life Coach I challenge you today to be the best you can be. No matter what you decide to do with your life, be the best at it. It doesn’t matter the mistakes you have made or the perceived limited opportunities you have received in life. Ultimately, today is a new day and you CAN do better! You can use your talents and gifts to get on with the race and explore a new way of living.

Whether you want to get back to the workforce, renew a deteriorated relationship, regain your health or just starting to feel better about yourself; whatever your past is, it doesn’t matter; each day, life gives you the gift of opportunity and I challenge you to receive it. In order to do that, you have to seize whatever comes your way knowing that it may not come again. You have to embrace challenges knowing that what doesn’t challenge you doesn’t change you. And, you have to accept the fact that you are uniquely special, that you are worthy and that you deserve a better life.

I challenge you to be the best you can be…to receive the opportunities that life offers you…to embrace the challenges recognizing that there is learning behind each experience and to accept that you are talented, unique, special and deserve to receive what you want.

I challenge you today. Will you take my challenge? Be in the lookout for opportunities. Be assertive about what you want. Tell people around you and surround yourself with things and individuals that will support you. You may need to let go of some things and some people; but at the end you will see results.

If you are stuck in trying to reach your goals. If you have tried and are uncertain on how to move forward. If you would like to take on this challenge, but have absolutely no idea of where to start…Life Coaching might be for you.

Perhaps good things come to those who wait, but the BEST things come to those who seize the moment and make it their own.” From Hallmark Book of Dreams
