Ever walk in to your closet and wonder what you are going to wear?.For most of us, this is a daily ritual. We gaze at our overstuffed closet , not finding one item that we want to put on! Amazing isn't it? And like most of us today suffering thru this bad economy, we haven't updated our wardrobe since the last election. With this being said, I am sharing with you four tips to updating your wardrobe that will turn your Drab into Fab ....without breaking the bank!
1. Crop Jackets - one of the essentials of this seasons wardrobe. You will find them almost anywhere, from leather to denim and everything in between. They come in a variety of colors and are usually very figure flattering. Paired with a great T-shirt from your existing wardrobe and your favorite pair of jeans, this look is great from day to night. You can even ad a cropped jacket to your favorite dress. The possibilities are endless.
2. The Scarf- not just a scarf, but the scarf you're going to make your next big impression in! This scarf will be the icing to any outfit. You see them all over town on your friends, worn with a simple T- shirt or over a great dress, and you wonder, how did they tie that? Well, wonder no more! Here are 2 ways..
A. Take the scarf and fold in half, take the half and wrap around the back of your neck and bring the loose ends and the looped ends to the front of either of your shoulders. Take the loose ends and pull through the looped ends, and voila!, your scarf is now tied.
B. This one is a little more tricky...take the scarf and wrap each end over your shoulders leaving a loose loop in front of your neck above your chest. Cross the ends in the back of the neck , bring back both ends of the scarf to the front hanging down on either side of the loop you made. Then for the finishing touch, loosely tie the front ends below the loop around your neck. You are now wearing your scarf!
These scarves come in many weights and patterns and can be worn all year long. Make sure you pick one that works with a variety of outfits in your wardrobe and one that is long enough to tie.
3. The long, long necklace - The long necklace is another essential accessory to this seasons wardrobe. It is simple and yet flirty. Typically worn on a plain front shirt or dress, this necklace can spice up any outfit and make it look like it visited the fountain of youth. The longer the necklace, the more ways you can wear it. You can even loop it twice or wear it with several others that complement each other, creating different lengths. You can't go wrong with this simple addition.
4. The Bag - Typically twice a year the woman leaves the home and travels near and far for the Hunt. The Hunt for the most perfect handbag of course! (Not to be confused with the Sacrifice, which is another age old term used for shopping for swimsuits and jeans and which is much more terrifying!!!) This perfect bag will show your friends and colleges your season's personality...whether it's fun and flirty or professionally driven, this bag is all you! I'm a true believer that a great bag need not be expensive nor boring. There are so many great looks and colors out there, why waste a fortune on an expensive designer bag when you can buy one that looks just as nice and you will actually have some cash left over to put inside the bag! This seasons look is .....color , color color! No more basic brown, colors are ranging from yellow to coral to aqua blue. And with the money you'll save by not going ultra designer...I think you just might have enough for that perfect pair of shoes to compliment.
Happy Shopping!!!
