I used to LOVE trick or treating as a kid.
My two brothers and I had an ongoing bet who could bring home the heaviest pillowcase full of decadent treats! I honestly can't remember who won, but I do remember sifting through the loot and separating the "good stuff" (aka chocolate) from the rest. There must have been 8-10 pounds of candy spread out over our kitchen table!
Things are a bit different now. It is SO not worth it to me…

Funny.
As unique as we all believe we are, I find that there are more similarities than there are differences.
It matters not your gender, race or body composition. We all have a desire to look and feel as amazing as we are capable.
So why is it that 92% of us surveyed are not happy with our bodies and feel overwhelmingly tired and stressed out?
I see a pattern.
Despite showing up at the gym for…

Have you begun to make the connections between your own current ailments (Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Bowel Disease, Hypertension, Arrhythmias, Cancers) and your past and current food choices?
Are you willing to contribute to the diseases your own children will have to…

School lunches have been a hot topic this season, much in thanks to Jamie Oliver's TV hit, Food Revolution!
One of the main catalysts for Jamie's "mission trip" (Jamie is from the UK) to the United States to help our dying Standard American Diet eating populace was the USDA study that proved that children eating lunches from our National Lunch Program are more likely to become overweight!
Unfortunately even Jamie's solution of…

For those of you who like the Bottom Line, here it is:
We always live up to our expectations, not our desires!
So ask yourself the right question. It isn't necessarily, "What do you want to accomplish?", but rather, "What do you expect to accomplish" that will head you in the direction of success.
Now, for those of you who want more…

The American Public hears often how to eat to avoid cardiovascular disease. Some of the info is wrong. Some is purely trying to sell you a product. But I think we all know intrinsically how to decrease our risks.
But from the most recent statistics I’ve read, heart disease and subsequent suffering and death continues to be on the rise.
The American Public has begun to actually EXPECT to die from cardiovascular disease and…

"Milk". Just the word itself conjures up feelings of comfort, home and wholesomeness. (Unless of course you're lactose intolerant.)
Nearly all of us were either breast-fed or milk-based formula fed and intrinsically harbor strong ties to milk. These infantile connections die hard!
I have a sneaking suspicion that the lines of…

I know how frustrating the weight loss roller coaster can be! The mental stress of constantly dealing with how we feel about ourselves wreaks havoc on all areas of our lives.
Get together with any group of women, and the conversation will eventually turn to food or body image.
Like the classic victim, we have fallen in love with the things that are killing us. Here, it's our food.
This phenomenon is known as…
