REenergize, REnew & REcharge!

REenergize, REnew & REcharge!

“So, how was your weekend?”

When asked, many people I know complain about the weekend going by so fast, being so busy with extracurricular or social activities, being exhausted from chores and responsibilities that are often relegated from earlier in the week (or the month) and how they wish that the weekend was 3 days instead of 2.

In fact, most people I know (me included at… Continue

Happy Birthday to Me!

I woke up this morning as the sun was rising. I snapped awake to grab my camera and take a picture of "my tree" that I always pass on the way to work and thought how beautiful it would be to get a picture of this tree with the sun rising behind it. Needless to say, by the time I dressed, brushed my teeth and drove out there, I didn't get the most beautiful picture, but that's ok. I'm not giving up.

But on this drive, it occurred to me that today is my birthday. I'm overweight, out of… Continue

The 80/20 Principle: You don't have to do it all perfectly!

I LOVE having a plan. It's probably because I'm not naturally the most organized person in the world. Raising 5 children, I've come face to face with my own weaknesses too many times to count and have had to learn to develop a set of skills I wasn't blessed with.

Actually, this is where the name Strategic Wellness came from. I got to the point in my life (probably about the time we added the 5th little one) that I felt like everything… Continue

Don't Worry Be Happy...Deal with Worries and Stress Today

Don’t Worry…Be Happy!

Like the song made popular by Bobby McFerrin, I often discuss this topic with people and I’ve found myself saying “don’t worry…” However, it is clear to me that that is one of those little phrases which are ‘easier said than done.’ Hence, I thought I talk a little bit about what some know as the ‘art of worrying.’ In fact, some people master the practice of worrying almost in anticipation of bad things to come and… Continue
