Ratify ERA: It's the RIGHT Thing to Do

Ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment is simply the right thing to do and we should need no other argument that than that to get it done. Unfortunately, personal agendas, political agendas, and religious agendas have successfully prevented those who are in positions to support what is right and good to neglect their duty to serve the people. They have chosen to serve themselves instead. Let your elected officials know that you support ERA and that it is an important factor in your voting…See More

Profile Information

My Personality - Words to Describe Me:
I've been described as enthusiastic, driven, and sometimes a little, well... nuts. When I announced that that I was competing in the Warrior Dash, the mud-crawling, fire-leaping, 3.10 mile race from hell (I'll be running in support of the Equal Rights Amendment), I was asked if I was ever going to be normal. I said, "Probably not."
My Work Life - My Occupation/Business is:
My life work: "Trying to Make a Difference."

I am the Orlando Women's Issues Examiner for Examiner.com, author of "Woman this is WAR! Gender, Slavery and the Evangelical Caste System" and "Woman Submit! Christians & Domestic Violence."

I believe that passage of the Equal Rights Amendment is foundational to permanent change and protection for American women. I serve on the Advisory Board of the Majority United and am founder of the advocacy group, Concerned Citizens for Equality. Both groups have a primary goal of seeing the Equal Rights Amendment ratified.

My Fun Life - My Interests & Hobbies:
I love to spend time with friends. I love outdoor activities and gardening. I read, write, and crochet in my spare time.
My Favorites - Celebs, Movies, Books, Websites, Music, Television, Travel & More:
Favorite movie: AKEELA AND THE BEE, what a story and life-lesson in that movie! Absolutely inspiring.
What Defines Me - The Things I'm Passionate About:
My Statement of Life
• I belong to Jesus Christ body and soul. He is my first and only allegiance.
• His written Word, the Bible, is what I live and die by. I make a difference between English translation theology and what the Scriptures actually say, so I do carefully compare any translation with the original languages.
• I Believe the Scriptures present a standard of living for all who profess Christ, and I will not compromise on that.
• I have no interest in "Christianizing" non-believers by imposing Biblical standards, in which they may have no personal convictions, upon their personal lives.
• Rather, I strive to live as an example of Christ in such a way that the weary may see that in Him hope, eternal life, rest, and peace can be found. I often fail miserably.
• I draw a sharp distinction between living faith and dead religion, and do not feel inclined to be diplomatic with those who claim the scriptures as their authority but with their words and actions show no regard for them.
• I do believe the words of Christ Himself when he said that He is the only way, the only truth, and the only life, and that no one comes to the Father but by way of Him.
• I support human rights for all regardless of gender or sexual orientation--whether or not I agree with the way a person may choose to live his or her life.
• The example of Christ gives me the freedom to love people whether or not I agree with all of their choices.
• I abhor hatred and prejudice in all its despicable forms.
• Concerning abortion, I am pro-life. I consider abortion the taking of a human life and oppose it except in cases where a clear choice must be made between the life of the unborn child and the life of the mother.

Being "Not Normal" is OK!

Posted on June 20, 2011 at 12:30pm 0 Comments

When I told my friend, Sandy, that I would be competing in the WARRIOR DASH, the mud-crawling, fire-leaping, race from hell (I'll be running in support of the Equal Rights Amendment), she asked me if I would ever be normal. I said, "Probably not."

Being "not normal" is OK, if it means making a difference, and Sandy agreed. Not only did she agree, but she became excited! You see, Sandy is a retired nurse who has spent her life working tirelessly for passage of the ERA--which will…

Why are Women Guaranteed Only ONE right in Our Constitution?

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 10:58am 1 Comment

The U.S. Constitution is America's contract with its people, and women are routinely assured that the 14th Amendment grants them equality under the Constitution. Is that true? Women serendipitously received a constitutional right to citizenship in this country (in 1868!) by virtue of being born here only because former slaves were recognized as citizens by the passage of the 14th amendment during reconstruction after the Civil War. The 14th Amendment is not and never has been…

Can you believe this?

The Florida constitution's "equal rights for all persons, female and male alike" phrase has been challenged in 2001 and 2004. In both cases, Florida judges said it did not apply to Florida…

Hi Jocelyn, The book is the first children's effort by a friend of mine who has published a Christian Adult book. I am just doing the illustrations. I am excited and challenged. It is fun but kinda scary when we try our hand at something new. And I am not used to the aspect of using my drawings as finished product....I generally use multi-medias and they are more forgiving. :-)

Thanks for your interest.

Sounds like you are a very busy woman. I admire all you are trying to accomplish.

In His strength,

Linnea

Sounds like you're doing important work, especially in the area of abuse. I'm also a committed Christian with a strong faith. Would love to meet sometime. Let me know when you're speaking.

Thanks Jocelyn for your comment. I do love to help others and do it everytime i get a chance. I am currently unemployed and taking care of my ill mom. Prayerfully soon, i will be employed. All this in God's time. I am a survivor of abuse (incest, and domestic violence). Thru the word and my personal relationship with Christ i am healed. Looking forward to getting to know you better as well!! God bless!!
