Watson Clinic is proud to announce an upcoming lecture event presented by Elisabeth L. Dupont, M.D., a breast surgeon at Watson Clinic Women’s Center.

The lecture, titled ‘Myths and Facts about Breast Cancer,’ will separate the facts from the common fictions related to breast cancer, explain who is at risk for breast cancer, review the importance of breast screenings and describe available treatment options.

“There is a great deal of misinformation out there when it comes to all aspects of breast cancer - from diagnosis to risk factors to treatment protocols,” says Dr. Dupont. “This event will work to dispel those falsehoods and empower women in our area to sharpen their focus and take greater control of their breast health.”

The lecture will take place on Thursday, October 7 at 6:00pm in the 3rd floor conference room of Watson Clinic’s Bella Vista Building at 1755 N Florida Avenue in Lakeland.

ABOUT ELISABETH L. DUPONT, MD: Dr. Dupont received her medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, where she also completed her internship and residency in General Surgery. She then completed a fellowship in Breast Surgery at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa. Dr. Dupont is board certified in surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Breast Diseases, the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and the Executive Board of the Florida Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. She is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine.
